The grand total of this year's litter pick is 135 bags plus two mattresses, mattresses springs, a microwave oven, a TV, two broken bicycles, a folding bed, etc.!
The Committee wishes to thank the 65 volunteers who helped this year. For those who could not join us, don't despair, for you can do your bit by doing a daily 5 minute check/pick/sweep in the front of your property.

National Spring Clean - April 2010
National Spring Clean activity in Thomastown:
We have had two Saturday morning litter picking outings this month and we have two to go. We assemble on the Quay Car Park at 10.30am for a briefing on what to do, how and where to do it. We finish at 1 pm at the latest. Gloves, bags and pickers are supplied. With 30 pickers we have to date collected 62 bags of litter from around our town and there is still more to pick. Volunteers are very welcome even if they can spare only one hour. Every little helps!
The one photograph shows the 17 pickers who attended on the 3rd April and the second one the pile of 62 bags!
To participate you only need to pitch up on 17 and/or 24 April.
Subject to the weather on 24 April we will facilitate a barbeque from 1 pm in the area alongside the Childrens Playground on Marshes Street. Please bring your own food and drink. We will provide the fires and some tables. This an opportunity for you to meet the Committee Members. All are welcome.

Grennan Castle View Point
This viewpoint is just outside Thomastown on the Inistioge Road. We have recently replaced the lateral fencing, constructed three new picnic tables and carried other repairs on the cobbled deck and front fencing. Some landscaping will be undertaken in the near future to finish the project.
